Sprint Palm Pre

Palm announced the release date of its latest device. June 6th, 2009 is the day and the countdown has already begun. Sprint just announced that the Pre will cost $199.99 after $100 mail-rebate and 2-year contract and will launch on June 6th.

The phone will be launched only in US (initially) and will be available at Sprint stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack and select Wal-mart stores. So whats really good about Palm Pre? Palm Pre has a totally new operating system of its own called WebOS which is capable of doing things you would have never imagined to do with a cell phone.

The casing of the phone is made from sleek, glossy plastic, and the 3.1-inch touchscreen is flush with the face of the device, just like the iPhone or Touch Diamond. The phone has a bit of a curve to its body both in the back and around the sides, but would easily slip into a pocket. When you slide out the QWERTY keyboard, it has an almost banana-like shape to it, curving slightly to meet the contours of your hand and face. As you might expect, it feels great in the hand — it’s slightly smaller than an iPhone when closed, slightly larger when open, and roughly the same width.
